Just a quick post from our visit to Somerset Lavender last week, It was a bit of a cloudy day but I quite like it like that and it always makes for a good photo.
We are so lucky to have this on our door step, every year I just can’t wait for the Lavender to bloom. These pictures are from last week so I’m sure there is even more now, there is also a lovely flower garden and cafe to enjoy with lavender themed cakes. Theo my little boy absolutely loves it here and this year more than ever was fascinated with the lavender and the wonderful aroma in the air. I showed him how to rub the flowers in his hands to release the scent, to which he exclaimed “smells beautiful doesn’t it mummy”
We regularly meet our friends here who have kids the same age and watch them running around the fields and enjoying the willow tunnel. Before the lavender arrived there were hundreds of dandelions and dandelion clocks at the top of the fields and on a boiling hot day the kids thought this was brilliant, blowing all the clocks and running around on a carpet of yellow flowers.
I’m looking forward to many more visits this year and watching the rest of the fields bloom. It’s also very calming and relaxing even with a three-year old in tow!
So many varieties of Lavender to see in the lavender garden…
Beautiful Peonies in the flower and vegetable garden…
Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area and there is a link to their website here Somerset Lavender. I think we are heading there tomorrow so I’ll report back on my Instagram stories….
